Media & Entertainment Advisor: Film and Streaming
Stella Robinson Lightheart is GTG’s Media & Entertainment Advisor with a focus on film and streaming platforms.
As an Emmy-winning Editor, Stella’s resume includes shows for Netflix Animation, Warner Brothers Animation, Universal Pictures and Amazon Studios. Born in Macclesfield, England, and raised across New Zealand, Stella has forged an international livelihood across the broad roads of film, animation, and fine art.
Her career began in Wellington, where she worked closely with some of the country’s leading filmmakers. Her achievement within the realm of documentaries opened the doors wide to become an Additional Editor for the Kiwi classic, What We Do in the Shadows (Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement). From that success, she was given the coveted position as an Assistant Editor on Sir Peter Jackson’s trilogy of The Hobbit.
At the age of twenty-two, Stella challenged herself and successfully petitioned for a U.S. Alien of Extraordinary Ability Green Card, earning recognition as one of the top 2% in her field in New Zealand.
Since relocating to the United States, Stella’s editorial career has flourished. From Evan and Gregg’s Spiridellis’ Award-Winning Storybots: Answer Time for Netflix, to her present work on Disney/Titmouse Animation’s STUGO, Stella is deeply committed to storytelling as a tool for transformation and education. She is also a vocal advocate for mental health, wellness and creative collaboration.
Ms. Lightheart has also served as a Visual Dubbing Supervisor for Flawless AI, overseeing their AI-assisted dialogue replacement for seamless multilingual adaptation. Stella stands firm in her belief that this future technology should operate within ethical and well-defined parameters and sees the potential of AI as a tool for innovation.
Stella is also an accomplished visual artist whose work has been exhibited in the U.K. and Los Angeles. She is now expanding her artistic practice by bringing her paintings to life through animation, further bridging the worlds of art and entertainment.
